Saskia Boujo
BA PGCE
Saskia has been teaching young people for over 20 years in the London area. Gaining QTS in 2003, Saskia dedicated her first 12 years in education to educating pupils in a French primary school. A bilingual herself, she helped create a merging curriculum for the many Francophiles in London wishing to achieve bilingualism in both written and spoken English and French. Her last four years at the school were spent mentoring NQTs, recruiting, as well as building networks with other London schools to meet the needs of multilingual pupils across the capital.
In 2015, after her second child was born, Saskia retrained as a relationship and sex educator with Acet Uk, as well as completing a National PSHE CPD Programme with Roehampton University. Saskia also completed two other training programs: a plastic free periods course with WEN, ( Women’s Environmental Network) as well as the PSHE association accredited Rethink Periods training programme run by City to Sea.
All this new found knowledge allowed Saskia to approach schools, communities and places of work with the aim of eradicating period poverty as well as educating on the environmental impact of menstrual products. It was the positive response and enthusiasm from participants that drove Saskia to focus her attention particularly on the need for proper menstruation education, and then more widely into RSE.
In 2020, Saskia self published her first book, This Period In My Life: a period guide book for teenagers.
Saskia is passionate about delivering robust and engaging RSE in schools…as well as increasingly at home with her 3 daughters Elise 10, Uma 6 and Lucille 4!
