Relationships

We offer a series of sessions about relationships for Year 5-Year 13 students. These sessions are best delivered in tandem with the Bodies sessions.
We are big on feelings. We begin with topics such as friendship, non-sexual consent, communication & choice. As students move up the school, we visit them again and again to develop more nuanced conversations around boundaries, digital lives (including pornography & nudes), healthy positive sexual relationships & the complexity of consent in the context of the adolescent brain.

The positives and challenges of romantic intimate relationships are explored.

All identities & sexualities should feel included in this work.

There is strong focus on feelings and bodily autonomy. Which is why we are reluctant to deliver these sessions without our work on bodies too.

“Teachers should talk explicitly about the features of healthy friendships, family relationships and other relationships which young children are likely to encounter. ”

Our work fully supports your safeguarding policy and provision.

We liaise closely and discuss all content with you before delivering any work to young people.

“Teachers should talk explicitly about the features of healthy friendships, family relationships and other relationships which young children are likely to encounter. Drawing attention to these in a range of contexts should enable pupils to form a strong early understanding of the features of relationships that are likely to lead to happiness and security. This will also help them to recognise any less positive relationships when they encounter them.”
