Equality
As the VAWG epidemic deepens, our National Police Chiefs’ Council have said, ‘we need greater and more consistent Sex & Relationships Education for young people, which includes healthy relationships & gender equality’ and the current government have published clear updated RSHE Guidance as well as the VAWG Strategy.
The updated RSHE Guidance, 2025, says: ‘It is important to acknowledge that most sexual violence is committed against women and girls, and it often has a gendered component – for example, manifesting an inequality of power between men and women. However, anyone can be affected by sexual violence and teachers should avoid language which stigmatises boys or suggests that boys or men are always perpetrators or that girls or women are always victims… staff should be conscious of everyday sexism, misogyny, homophobia and stereotypes, and should take action to build a culture where prejudice is identified and tackled… Pupils should understand the importance of challenging harmful beliefs and attitudes and should understand the links between sexism and misogyny and violence against women and girls… Pupils should have opportunities to develop positive conceptions of masculinity and femininity, including how to identify and learn from positive male role models.’
Many of our schools are actively seeking to create safe-spaces where students can unpack their own experiences of harmful gender stereotypes and moved towards perpetrator prevention.
We have therefore devised a set of Equality modules for students to explore their feelings around these assumptions and encourage empathy and greater understanding of relationships.
This work is currently only being delivered by us to all girls groups. And our friends at Beyond Equality work alongside us with boys.
We have devised a 3-module course utilising single-sex spaces, and then a further 2 sessions, where young people will come together, share, connect and feel empowered to proactively work towards a whole school culture that prevents gender-based harms.
For Equality modules 1, 2 & 3 (single sex)…
We have devised a 3-module course utilising single-sex spaces. We suggest booking these modules in succession over a period of time that suits your planning.
For Equality modules 4 & 5 (co-ed)…
After students have completed the first 3 modules, we can offer a further 2 modules with them all reconnecting and working together.
If you would like to arrange a meeting with us and our good friends at Beyond Equality we are very happy to talk more about this collaborative work.
PLEASE NOTE: we currently do not deliver co-ed stand alone Equality sessions. However our Relationships & Bodies sessions are approached through the lens of gender inequalities and harms and we can make this work very bespoke, so if it is an Equality/VAWG prevention focus you are looking for, please have a conversation with us about how we can meet those objectives in a safe space.
