Kirstie Smith

Kirstie ( BA, MSc) is a passionate and knowledgeable trainer, having worked in the social care third sector for many years. Kirstie started as a residential social worker in a children’s home and went on to work with young people and schools delivering substance use information. Subsequently, Kirstie worked in substance use agencies, working directly with service users in order to engage, deliver information and, through engagement and partnership work, enable the service users to make any changes they could identify. Kirste was the Development Manager for a national charity, with responsibility for the development of 300 staff and managers. Most recently, she managed a service for young women with complex needs who were involved in the Criminal Justice System.

Kirstie has delivered knowledge and education related to substance use throughout her career: her passion remains to educate and stimulate discussion on this fascinating topic.
